Years ago Weird Al Yankovic parodied Green Day with his song "Canadian Idiot." Now the singer is hoping to meet many of his Canadian fans on his upcoming Mandatory Fun tour.

The musician best known for his treasure trove of humorous pop parodies will hit 11 Canadian cities as part of a mammoth North American tour, CBC reports.

According to Yankovic's official site, the trek begins with a five-night stand at Planet Hollywood in Las Vegas in May before hitting the road. Yankovic's site lists a stop in Windsor, Ont. on June 26 as his first Canadian stop. From there he hits Hamilton, Casino Rama, Ottawa and London in mid-July before two Maritime stops in Halifax and Moncton later in the month.

The Canadian portion concludes with stops in British Columbia and Alberta in early September. The North American leg concludes in Laughlin, Nev. on Sept. 18. The performer will then launch an eight-city European tour with plans for Australia and New Zealand shows in the works.

Tickets for all Canadian stops will begin with a pre-sale Jan. 27 at 10 a.m. local time.

Yankovic's latest album, which earned a Grammy nod for Best Comedy Album, was the first time a comedy album topped the Billboard Hot 200 charts in over a half century. The album's launch was highlighted by "8 videos in 8 days" including parodies of Lorde's "Royals" and "Happy" by Pharrell Williams.
