A B.C. dog owner, who allegedly stabbed his pet Pomeranian to death, has been charged with animal cruelty.
Artyom Goncharuk, 27, was arrested last week after a BC SPCA investigation. His three-year-old dog named Kaylly was found dead in Goncharuk's Richmond home in September. She had been stabbed 61 times, said the agency in a news release.
“The necropsy results show that an extremely disturbing level of violence was inflicted on this poor dog,” said Marcie Moriarty, chief prevention and enforcement officer for the BC SPCA.

If found guilty, Goncharuk faces a maximum fine of $75,000, five years in jail, and a potential lifetime ban on owning a pet.
