Richmond Fire Suspect Arrested After Woman Dies, Teen Injured

Police have arrested a suspect.

Police have arrested a suspect after an overnight fire in Richmond, B.C. killed one woman, and left a teen clinging to life.

Crews were called to a home engulfed in flames in the 10000-block of Cornerbrook Crescent around 2 a.m. on Monday, said officials.

Once the fire was contained, investigators went inside the house and found the body of Elaine Leznoff, 66.

A 13-year-old boy is in hospital in critical condition, said a news release from the Integrated Homicide Investigation Team.

A suspect is in police custody, said IHIT on Monday afternoon.

Investigators are still looking into what started the fire.
