'Amazing Race Canada' Season 3 To Hit TV Screens In July

It was Canada's most-watched program last summer.

Canada will be off to the races in just over a month's time!

CTV announced Monday the summer premiere of "Amazing Race Canada," which will debut its third season at 9 p.m. ET/PT on July 8.

Olympic gold medal-winning skeleton athlete Jon Montgomery will host the upcoming season of a show that has seen contestants go head-to-head in a series of obstacles in pursuit of a cash prize.

There aren't many details about the challenges participants will face this time, but they're sure to test people physically and mentally.

CTV pointed out that season two of "Amazing Race Canada" was the country's most-watched TV program last summer, attracting an average audience of 2.8 million viewers. One of the most exciting elements of that season was the actual travelling done by participants — the show left Canadian borders to visit China and France (and of course, plenty of Canadian provinces and territories as well).

Auditions for the upcoming season closed in late November, and they included some standout entries, such as two guys who took to a $1-million playground in Richmond, B.C. as part of their training.

Happy racing, Canada!
