Police in Alberta are looking for three teens in connection with a playground attack on a boy who has Asperger's Syndrome.
The 13-year-old victim was playing outside Ecole St. Mary school in Lethbridge on July 7 when three strangers came up to him, said police.
The teen said he was punched in the face and stomach before being choked. He added that his attackers filmed everything on their iPhones, then left him alone on the playground, reported CTV News.
The trio was last seen riding away on their bikes near Catholic Central High. Police searched for the group, but had no luck.
The boy returned home with marks around his neck, a swollen eye, and a bloody nose, his mother told the Calgary Herald.
Police released surveillance video of the suspects on Monday, hoping someone might recognize them. (Watch above.)
All three are white males, said police.
- The first is described as 15 to 17 years old, 5'10" tall and 140 pounds. He has shaggy, blond hair that hangs near his shoulders.
- The second is between 15 and 17 years old, 5' 9" tall, and 140 pounds, with short brown hair.
- A third suspect is between 12 and 15 years old, stands five feet tall, and weighs 90 pounds.
Anyone with information about the attack can call Lethbridge police at (403) 328-4444. Crime Stoppers is taking tips at 1-800-222-8477, and has offered a cash reward for information leading to an arrest.
