A street sweeper's simple gesture left a lasting impression on a seven-year-old artist on Vancouver Island.
Brielle Pronick, 7, was drawing in chalk in the pavement in front of her house in Courtenay, B.C. when a street sweeper came down the road.
She ran back to her dad to wait for it to pass.
"I could see this worried look. She was looking at me then looking out at the road and looking at me again,” Wendel Lamb, who was operating the street sweeper, told CHEK News.
So Lamb lifted the brushes up as his vehicle drove over to save Brielle's masterpiece.
Her dad who had been taking photos happened to capture it in a video. (Watch above).
"It was just a sweet simple gesture that made a little girl's day," Brielle's mom, Kristen Pronick, told HuffPost B.C.
Lamb, who has worked for the city for 16 years, kept driving and didn't think twice about his kind act. He also didn't know it had been recorded.
Pronick posted the video to a local Facebook page for "rants and raves." She said, "It's usually rants so it's nice to throw in a few raves."
