Are You Ready For The Parapan Am Games?

This Video For Parapan Am Games Has Us On The Edge Of Our Seats

Today's the day the Parapan Am Games kick off in Toronto, and if the video above is any indication of what we can expect, it's going to be incredible.

Parapan Am athletes Danielle Kisser (swimming), Jaye Milley (cycling) and David Eng (wheelchair basketball) show off their intense training routines in the 2:35 minute clip and it really is impressive. Set to A Tribe Called Red's powerful tune "Electric Pow Wow Drum," we watch as Eng spins around his opponent, drives to the basket, takes a hit and tumbles. But before a whistle can be blown, Eng is back up, wheelchair and all — and obviously, he shoots and scores.

But that's not the only inspiring moment. Watching Kisser go from jumping onto the counter to jumping over logs and Milley crushing heavy weights while wearing prosthetics, it's safe to say these power athletes make us want to run a little faster, lift a little higher and push it a hell of a lot more.

Of course, these are just a few of the athletes we'll be cheering on throughout these games. Team Canada is reported to have the largest team ever for this year's Games, with 216 athletes.

The Parapan Am opening ceremony begins tonight at 7pm ET on CBC.
