Florida Driver Tells Police Officer: 'No Wonder You People Get Shot'

The cop may have been angry on the inside, but he didn't show it.

A Florida police officer didn’t lose his cool when he was chewed out by a driver he accused of speeding.

The cop pulled the woman over for travelling more than 50 kilometres over the speed limit in a school zone when she unloaded on him.

“You know what? No wonder you people get shot – you’re absolute assholes,” she could be heard saying in dashcam footage. But the officer didn't lose his composure.

“OK, thank you, ma’am. I appreciate that. Drive safe,” he said.

The Palm Beach Sheriff’s Office posted a video of the Sept. 1 encounter in its entirety on Twitter and YouTube.

County Sherriff Ric Bradshaw told WPTV the driver's reaction left him disappointed and angry.

“This is a deputy trying to make sure that children are safe and don't get killed in a school zone. He was doing his job.”

Not only was the driver fined US$606, according to the news station, but folks on social media overwhelmingly sided with the officer.

"You're right, the driver was horrible. But kudos to the officer for exceptional courtesy and restraint! Give him a medal!" wrote Steven Arnold on Twitter.
