We Tried Mimicking The Nauseating Stunt In 'The Walk' With Virtual Reality

This movie can make you sick, seriously.

Director Robert Zemeckis' new movie, "The Walk", is literally making people sick.

The film is based on the true story of Philippe Petit, the man who committed the "artistic crime of the century," when he snuck to the top of the Twin Towers and walked a tight-rope strung between them in 1974.

The 3D-film premiered at the New York Film Festival over the weekend and left people experiencing an intense experience of vertigo.

People were actually vomiting after watching the movie, according to the New York Post.

Feeling sick while watching a 3D movie is not that uncommon. One study showed that over 50 per cent of people who watch 3D films have had at least one physical complaint after the experience.

We decided to test that theory by sending our very own Kait Howell to walk "The Walk" using virtual reality to skip across a tight-rope 110 stories above the ground.

Watch the video above to see what happened.
