This Potato Peeling Trick Will Actually Make Your Potatoes Taste Better

Your hands will thank us.

Peeling a big bag of potatoes can be a total pain. Even if your hands don't cramp, chances are you'll end up taking off much more than just the skins anyway.

Fortunately, there is another way to get perfectly peeled potatoes without even picking up a peeler. In the video above by Foody Tube, we learn the quick trick. Simply score the potato horizontally all the way around, then boil. Once the potatoes are cooked, drain the pan and run them under cold water. Just like hard boiled eggs, the cold water will help the exterior slide off.

And this technique will help your potatoes taste better too. Whether you're grilling chicken, baking fish or boiling potatoes, cooking with skins on will help seal in flavour.

Great taste and no hand cramps, this is one hack we'll be using again and again! Do you have a cooking hack you can't live without? Let us know in the comments below.
