Decaf-Only Coffee Shop Opens In NYC, B.C. Founders Dubbed 'Weirdos'

"Cultural apocalypse"?

A B.C.-based coffee company is the talk of the town in New York City for opening up a store that only serves decaf.

Swiss Water, based in Burnaby, uses "pure water" to filter caffeine out of its drinks, producing a chemical-free result that's said to taste the same as the caffeinated version.

It's a venture tailored to those enjoy drinking coffee later in the day than relying on it for a quick boost, according to the company's website.

On Friday, Swiss Water opened its colourful pop-up shop in NYC's snazzy Soho neighbourhood.

Jokes aside, the company said it had an "amazing opening day."

(Notice that they didn't say "opening morning." Coincidence? We think not.)
