'Star Wars: The Force Awakens' Character Posters Are The Ones We Were Looking For

This should tide us over for now.

The "Star Wars" franchise sure knows how to get fans excited.

As anticipation builds for the release of "Star Wars: Episode VII — The Force Awakens" on Dec. 18, some new character posters bring us face to face with the heroes (and one villain) we'll meet when the series hits screens once again.

We don't know much yet about the story of "The Force Awakens." But reports suggest it concerns a Galactic Empire-like organization known as the First Order that has risen 30 years after the Battle of Endor.

Daisy Ridley plays Rey, a scavenger from a desert planet known as Jakku; John Boyega portrays Finn, a Stormtrooper who finds himself in danger; and Adam Driver is Kylo Ren, a villainous character who is a member of a group known as the Knights of Ren.

Harrison Ford and Carrie Fisher reprise the roles of Han Solo and Leia, respectively, from the original trilogy.

The posters don't show Lupita Nyong'o as Maz Kanata; Oscar Isaac as Poe Dameron; Gwendoline Christie as Captain Phasma; nor Mark Hamill as Luke Skywalker, who has been mysteriously absent (or hidden) in the film's promotional materials.

Yes, this should tide us over fine for just over a month. But that's it.
