It was a picture-perfect day for Toronto's Santa Claus parade on Sunday. Mild temperatures and clear skies drew thousands of families that filled the downtown core, hoping to catch a glimpse of Santa, members of the Toronto Blue Jays, and the Toronto Raptors mascot.
This year marked the 111th edition of the holiday event, which is the oldest of its kind in the world, according to the CBC.
What's a parade without floats? A really boring traffic jam, that's what.
These photos were taken by Toronto Police officer Ryan Willmer, who joined other officers to make sure no grinches ruined the festivities.
It's been months since the Blue Jays' magical playoff run, but the crowd showed plenty of love for players Liam Hendriks and Dalton Pompey. (And we can't forget about Ace!)
The Toronto Raptors mascot was probably the second-most popular guy in red out there.
We're not sure what clowns have to do with Christmas, but the more the merrier, right?
There was even a (rather mis-matched) herd of dinosaurs at the parade, with raptors, brontosauruses, and a stegosaurus.
Mayor John Tory walked the parade route and even put on a red clown nose to get into the Christmas spirit.
Of course, everyone is waiting for the man of the hour. Now the Christmas season can officially begin.
