Editor’s note: This story has been updated to reflect current information for 2019.

Canada’s Grey Cup tournaments have been around for over a century — 107 years to be exact — but the half-time show has only been a tradition since 1991.

This Sunday, Canadian football fans will have much to look forward to thanks to a matchup pitting the Winnipeg Blue Bombers against the Hamilton Tiger-Cats in Calgary. As for the half-time act this year, that job goes to country star Keith Urban.

Now, it may seem odd to have a singer from Australia headline a major Canadian sporting event, but if you look at past performers, you’d be surprised to find it’s more common than you think. He’ll also find himself among the company of past big-name Canadian performers. But don’t take our word for it, check out the slideshow below if you don’t belieb us.
