Victoria's Secret Angel Sara Sampaio On Becoming An Angel, Her New Year's Resolutions And More

"I believe life is about setting goals and working very hard to make them happen."

After working with Victoria's Secret for four years, Sara Sampaio finally earned her wings, becoming one of the 10 new Angels to join the lingerie giant's roster this year.

The 24-year-old Portugese model tells HuffPost Canada Style via email that becoming an Angel was "one of the best days of my career," and a goal of hers for many years.

Sara, who has graced the runway for major fashion houses, including Moschino, Jeremy Scott and Blumarine, says walking down a runway makes her feel confident and sexy.

"Everything is exciting, form the fittings, hair and makeup, hanging out with all the incredible girls, and seeing friends you haven't seen a while," she says. "But my favourite part is the actual runway. When I'm walking down the runway I am so happy...it's a huge adrenaline rush!

Of her fellow veteran Angels, the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue 2014 Rookie of the Year says they've taught her to "never take [the experience] for granted." She also says she'd "rather not even take a second to think" about the misconceptions people have about the Angels.

"We are all healthy women who come from different backgrounds that work really hard to do this job," she explains.

As for the upcoming year, Sara says she's not going to make resolutions — she has bigger plans.

"I don't like to make New Years resolutions," she tells us. "I believe life is about setting goals and working very hard to make them happen. So I do that everyday."

Sampaio's first Angel appearance at the Victoria's Secret Fashion Show airs tonight at 10 p.m. on Global (CBS in the states). In the meantime, you can check out all the looks from the show below:
