Carolina Hurricanes' 'Netflix And Chill' Reference Is Hilariously Wrong

"I don't think that phrase means what you think it means."

The Carolina Hurricanes caused a minor social media storm when they flubbed a "Netflix and Chill" reference Tuesday night.

The team was facing the Dallas Stars when the 'Canes tweeted a photo of players Kris Versteeg and Tyler Seguin lying on the ice together with an eyebrow-raising message.

Dallas responded with a fitting "Princess Bride" reference:

The 'Canes tried to retort with another reference from the movie:

But the damage was done.

For the uninitiated, "Netflix and Chill" means to get it on with a movie streaming in the background.

So we're not sure what the team was implying, but to add injury to insult, the 'Canes lost 6-5.
