'X-Files' Trailer Has Us Excited To See Mulder And Scully Again

The truth is still out there.

A new trailer for the Vancouver-shot "X-Files" revival has been released β€” and we're pumped.

In the clip, FBI agents Dana Scully (Gillian Anderson) and Fox Mulder (David Duchovny) investigate paranormal events again. Mulder explains that the "X-Files," unsolved cases involving extraordinary events, were closed by the FBI in 2002.

Then it shows a flying saucer crash landing onto Earth.

The trailer also shows the Cigarette-Smoking Man (William B. Davis) β€” the series villain β€” noting that the files have been reopened.

And, well, it's time for the agents to spring into action.

The six-episode miniseries debuts on Fox on Jan. 24 at 10 p.m. ET (7 p.m. PT), after the NFL's NFC championship game. The following episode will play the following day at 8 p.m. ET/PT, which is also its normal timeslot.

"The X-Files" last aired in 2002. Two feature-length movies were also released in 1998 and 2008.
