It's official: Britney Spears is on the comeback trail.
After being announced as the cover girl for V magazine's 100th issue (which is incredibly gorgeous, FYI), the "Baby One More Time" pop star is taking things to the next step with her new photo for Mario Testino's Towel Series, shot exclusively for the glossy.
In the black and white photo captioned "Series 104," the legendary photographer captures Spears' private side. She dons a boldly-lined eye and nude lip and sports a wrapped towel on her hair and another falling off her shoulders. The 34-year-old gazes over her shoulder and gives us a look that says, "You want a piece of me?" in her most pure state.
Testino also captured Brit Brit's three covers for the mag, which features her in a skintight Balmain bodysuit and a tousled half ponytail.
Throughout the years, the Towel Series, which, "Isn't just a hashtag, it's a revelation," according to V, has featured stars ranging from Gisele Bündchen to Selena Gomez and Justin Bieber to Kendall Jenner. But it all began with legendary model, Kate Moss.
"One day, just a few weeks after I launched my Instagram account, I was with Kate Moss on a shoot. She was going to an event straight afterwards and had to remove all of her makeup. After showering, she came out of the dressing room in a robe, with a towel on her head. I thought, God, women always look amazing with towels around their heads...and how many people actually get to see Kate Moss coming out of the shower, in just a robe?" Testino spilled to the magazine. "It was that very moment that I captured for my first image in the “Towel Series” for Instagram."
Now this is a squad we could roll with.
