1500-Year-Old Mummy Found Wearing 'Adidas' Shoes, Sparks Time Travel Theories

Time travel may not be a myth after all.

Adidas sneakers may be a favourite of It-girls like Gigi Hadid and Kendall Jenner, but it looks as though some other very stylish women were rockin' them 1,500 years ago.

Archeologists found a female's remains on the Mongolian side of the Altai Mountains, sporting what appears to be a pair of Adidas kicks.

The 1,500-year-old mummy's feet were wrapped in footwear featuring three stripes, what the German sportswear brand is known for.

Following the news of the discovery, the Internet starting freaking out, speculating time travel as the reason for this mummy's choice of footwear.

Others cracked jokes about the popularity of the three-stripe sneaker brand.

Adidas freakout aside, the discovery is receiving praise as the first complete Turkik burial found in Central Asia.

"This is a very rare phenomenon," Khovd Museum researcher B.Sukhbaatar told the Siberian Times. "These finds show us the beliefs and rituals of Turkiks."

So the next time you're questioning whether to purchase a new pair of three stripe kicks, take consolation in knowing that they truly are timeless.
