They've been described as everything from "exhausting" to "pretentious" to even "insufferable."
Nathaniel Peters and Barbara Jane Sloan, the subject of a recent article in the New York Times' Vows section is causing a Twitter frenzy after the couples' um, unique, story is going viral for all the wrong reasons.
Peters, who is the great-grandchild of Maria and Georg von Trapp (the inspiration behind "The Sound Of Music"), is described as a bookworm with orange shoelaces, fancy dress shoes and a man who loves to sing to himself (and others). The article's title, "The Sound of Music Is in His Blood and Now His Heart," is also causing people to laugh out loud.
In a post by Will deFries for Post Grad Problems (probably the most hilarious take on this original piece yet), the writer calls the paragraphs "punchable," and describes the couple as "pompous hipsters."
In one part of the NYT article, the couple talks about being single for the first time and going on a date.
"Not long after, [Sloan] recalled, [Peters] asked her: 'Remember our conversation about being two pilgrims along the way? Well, I would like to make a slight amendment. I’d like to take you down to the Public Garden and have a picnic and read from P.G. Wodehouse.'"
And this was deFries' response: "I just put both of my hands on my desk, put my head down, and pushed away before wiping my hands down the front of my face. Just what the f**k, guys. Loosen up and be kids for once in your f**king life."

But hey, love is love and some were quick to congratulate the couple and call out the rest of the Internet for making fun of them.
