YouTuber Marimar Quiroa Gives Us All A Real Lesson In Self-Love

"When I was younger I would talk to myself in the mirror. I would tell myself I was beautiful."

Being differently abled should never stop anyone from making their way into the spotlight.

And it certainly didn't hold YouTuber Marimar Quiroa back from following her passion for beauty.

Born with cystic hygroma — a facial tumour that has left her unable to eat or speak through her mouth — Quiroa has long dealt with her share of hardships.

"Before, my face and head were bigger and I went through the process of many surgeries over several years to shrink my face and mouth to what you see today," she shared with Bancroft TV, according to the Daily Mail.

Quiroa also has diminished hearing in her right ear and uses sign language to communicate.

The 21-year-old explained that she used to struggle with accepting her appearance, and would even hide in public so strangers wouldn't stare at her on the street.

Luckily, those feelings didn't last too long and Quiroa quickly learned to love the skin she's in.

"When I was younger I would talk to myself in the mirror. I would tell myself I was beautiful," she said, as reported by HuffPost Style UK. "I would encourage myself and list all the things that were good about me and it built my confidence through the years."

The YouTube beauty sensation has continued her positive progression since then, and now shares her message of self-love and beauty with the world.

"To me, beauty means to accept yourself for who you are," she shared in the video above."It doesn't matter if you have a different-looking face. Accept yourself for who you are."

And with more than 110,000 subscribers and six million views, it appears as though her audience is sending her the love right back.

"You are beautiful!!!!!!" one commentator wrote.

"She's so inspiring😍😍" another said.

However, like any YouTuber, Quiroa isn't immune to the trolls. But since she's the true beauty queen she is, the influencer remains highly unbothered.

"I have encountered negative people both on YouTube and out in my daily life," she shared. "People tell me I look like a monkey, that my mouth is wrong and people stare at me, I see them staring. When people say negative things to me I either tell them to stop or just ignore them. But if people are staring at me, I stare right back and refuse to look away until they stop."

Right on, sister!

While Quiroa has reached YouTube stardom, she still has plans beyond the small screen and is enjoying all the amazing things life has to offer along the way.

According to Refinery29, the vlogger is currently studying education in hopes of one day teaching deaf children, and is also a Zumba teacher on the side!

"She said she wants to go travelling and go many places and inspire other people and give thanks to God that's she's alive with a lot of energy," her mother shared with Bancroft TV.

We can't wait to see what she'll get up to next.
