Barbara Eden Now: Actress Opens Up About Losing Son To Drug Overdose

Barbara Eden's son passed away just before his wedding.

“I Dream of Jeannie” star Barbara Eden welcomed her only son, Matthew, in 1965 during her first marriage to Michael Ansara.

“Having my son, I had no idea it would be so emotional and so wonderful. It was the most wonderful thing that ever happened in my life,” the 85-year-old said on “Oprah: Where Are They Now?”

But sadly, Matthew died of a heroin overdose in 2001, just before his wedding. He was 35 years old.

In the video above, Eden opens up about becoming a mother and losing her son.
