If you're questioning Sophie Grégoire Trudeau as a feminist, don't.
The 41-year-old gender equality activist recently spoke about feminism during a Q&A and screening of the documentary "Dream, Girl" on Tuesday in Ottawa.
In a video uploaded to YouTube by tea sommelier Sheena Brady of TeaseTea.com, the national ambassador for Plan Canada said she doesn't understand why people still don't identify themselves as feminist.
"I have a tough time understanding that for one reason... feminism is about being educated enough to know the facts," she said during the Q&A. "When you look at the facts, you know there is inequality."
In the two-minute video clip, "Dream, Girl" director Erin Bagwell also brought up the importance of activism.
"I feel like that activism switch is so important, because it's naming it, understanding the information... it empowers you in a way [and say], 'what's the next step."
Grégoire Trudeau also noted how moved she was to see so many men in the audience at the screening — a documentary primarily about female entrepreneurs.
"In the quest for more equality in a society, when we think that men aren't part of the solution, we're truly wrong," she said.
And as a feminist herself, Grégoire Trudeau is also vocal when it comes to issues of women's rights (through her charity work) and even hateful comments towards women in the news.
In October, she spoke up about a 2005 audio recording of the Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump making disgusting comments about assaulting women.
"We're all winners when we unite for more equality," she continued during the Q&A.
