Dave Loken, Councillor Ward 3 Edmonton: What this election means--why I Want to Continue as Your Ward 3 Councillor

In this next election, I'm asking for your vote so I can continue to provide the leadership and representation for Ward 3 that I have over this past term. I want to continue the work we started three years ago on city council and I want to continue building our ward together!

In this next election, I'm asking for your vote so I can continue to provide the leadership and representation for Ward 3 that I have over this past term. I want to continue the work we started three years ago on city council and I want to continue building our ward together!

Over the past three years on Council, I've helped complete the concept design for the Northwest LRT extension which will bring safe and efficient transit to our ward. In the next term I will continue pushing this project past the design phase.

I've increased the number of neighbourhoods that will receive much-needed Neighbourhood Renewal. When I got on Council, many Ward 3 neighbourhoods were not slated to be repaired for over a decade. I've pushed these up and now we have communities that will be repaired starting next year.

These initiatives, along with my work with the Edmonton Police Commission and REACH, are helping to make Ward 3 a safer community and one of the best parts of the city to live in.

One of my proudest achievements is the work I've done with Edmonton Salutes, a City of Edmonton initiative to recognize and celebrate the contributions of military members to our communities. I'm proud of our military members and their families, and I'm grateful for the sacrifices they make for their country and our communities everyday.

We've come a long way in three years, but there's much more to do. I believe the core elements of a great city are safe neighbourhoods, well-maintained infrastructure, strong public transit and a vibrant downtown. All of this goes hand-in-hand with responsible planning, development and financing.

I have the experience to help the citizens of Ward 3 achieve the quality of life they want in their communities. It has been a privilege to serve as your Ward 3 Councillor for the past three years, and on October 21 I'm asking for your vote so that we can finish what we started together!
