Carribbean Inspired Mocktail Recipe (VIDEO)

In this week's episode of MeghanTV, I tackle a classic dilemma: what to do if all of your guests are pounding back the booze, but you don't feel like indulging on their level. Alcohol is always optional, but if you want something stylish (and sober!) to sip on, whip up a Caribbean Spice Mocktail.

I'm back with another fun-filled episode of #MeghanTV!

This week I take to the kitchen to tackle one of the questions that comes up so often in my UnDiet Book Club:

What do we do when the summer patio calls our names, everyone is slugging back booze, and we don't want to drink (or at least not as much)?

This isn't to say that a glass of wine here and there isn't okay. Of course it is (though I'd recommend being a little discerning and seeking out some biodynamic/organic options).

What we sometimes forget is the simple truth that alcohol is always optional and if not drinking means you won't have the good time you're after, well then there are some much bigger things we need to look at. And if your social plans aren't any fun if you're sober, then it just might be time to start making different kinds of plans. If we can't celebrate the moment, while being fully present for it, well, what are we celebrating?

In this week's MeghanTV, I have for you one of my most favourite bevvy recipes: the Caribbean Spice Mocktail.

Watch the episode as I share the main benefits of these carefully-selected ingredients and how they can support our health and actually have the complete opposite effects of alcoholic drinks.

Recipe: Caribbean Spiced Mocktail

  • 1 lemon, juiced
  • 1tbsp fresh grated ginger root
  • 2 tbsp maple syrup
  • 1 tsp fresh grated nutmeg
  • kombucha and/or organic alcohol of choice
  • ice
  • soda water

I want to know what you're sipping!
