To Lose Weight, Have Fun

Fun, it's the missing link in getting the best physique you can. Toned tight abs, sculpted arms, lean legs. All those tag lines, need you to be having fun to get them.

I'm driving a car that has 252 horse power, it makes driving fun. All of a sudden, driving to work isn't bad. Add to that power a sweet sound system and I enjoy the drive.

My food selection is fun. I try different healthy recipes regularly. Sometimes they are terrible, sometimes they get put in the "use again" file. That unique experience makes life "fun", and I keep eating healthy.

Work for me is also fun, not just now as a personal trainer (for the last decade) but when I worked construction sites on clean up, or at grocery stores cleaning and doing produce. I made things fun, found friends and enjoyed my time. It is imperative that we get back to having fun. It will lower stress, and put smiles on our faces. We need to have fun, not sit down and watch someone on TV have fun. That's where exercise comes in.

What do you like to do? Dance, run and jump, test your strength? What would you do if you had all the athletic ability in the world. Now, make a plan to do it.

I hate to long distance run, I love to run short distances fast and then stop to do some exercises.

Make me run a marathon, and I get bored and don't want to. Have me test my body and throw in a few challenges along the run, and you can't keep me away.

How about lifting weights? I'm in to circuits and different training. I love tabata drills. That's why my classes at Snap Fitness River Heights include those things. It has to be simple and exciting then you will lose weight.

Try this workout. Grab 3 friends and go have some fun.

Run 1000 meters to start, it's a warm up, so pace yourself accordingly

Run a fast 200 meters- Do 10 push ups, 10 lunges each leg, and 10 skate jumps

Run a fast 200 meters- Do 10 single leg bridges, 10 dips

Run a fast 200 meters - Do 20 squat jumps,

Then jog 1400 meters

Repeat it the 200 meter sprints and workout

Then cool down with 1200 meter jog and 800 meter walk

All added that's about 3 1/4 miles. Hope it takes about 40 minutes.

If you have time throw a few ab exercises in for fun.
