When You Work Out, Try Something New

Try some new things, and if you are in the gym a lot. Use these videos as inspiration. Learn to become functional. Jump higher, and do chin ups. Trust me, both things make you feel athletic. It makes the gym not just about showing up, but about accomplishments. Find a place where you fit the environment.

What are you going to try this week so that exercise isn't boring?

I've just recently added Joga to my routine. I wandered into a place called Yoga Public in Winnipeg, thanks to a facebook post by LuLu Lemon Polo Park

If you recall, I'm trying to broaden my own personal workout horizons. I've been an athlete my whole life. That means I pick things up and put them down to get better at performance. Most of the time, people like me get tunnel vision. The problem is I want to make the Nation healthy. So to inspire change I have to do things a little different. I want you to push your comfort zone, I have to do the same. I started in to Yoga a few months ago, and it is definitely strange to me.

My next goal is to go to Joga regularly and do the splits! Forget a six pack, i'm going to be a ninja.

One Fit City is a movement designed to motivate and get ideas to people. It's my dream to introduce regular folks looking to change their lives to fitness minded people who are caring, passionate, and able to communicate a few thoughts. Key thoughts to making health life long.

1) We do this to avoid the hospital. If possible, prevent and delay death as long as you can. It gives you more chances to enjoy life to it's fullest.

2) Use fitness to make memories. If you've never climbed a mountain, swam in the ocean, or ran through a wheat field. You are doing life wrong. Go out and make an adventure, don't watch it on TV

3) Have lots and lots of fun. The event I went to had 50 really cool people. Now, unfortunately for me I was not on my A game due to a very late night before. However, everyone there was eager to interact and meet new friends. So you learn a new skill, and form new relationships. That's how to have fun and keep the mind sharp.

Really fitness is all about trying new things and setting goals. I'm doing a series of videos with RIver CIty Ford in Winnipeg. They believe corporately in the message of One Fit City. As they continue "Driving Change" they are helping me do the same in people's lives.

Try some new things, and if you are in the gym a lot. Use these videos as inspiration. Learn to become functional. Jump higher, and do chin ups. Trust me, both things make you feel athletic. It makes the gym not just about showing up, but about accomplishments. Find a place where you fit the environment. When you find the athletic endeavor that speaks to your heart, you won't look for motivation and inspiration to go be active. You'll be looking in the mirror at the new healthy, fit, happy you.

Start making fitness part of your life. Do Yoga, Swim, Kickbox, Lift Weights, Run, do whatever it is that gets you off of the couch and avoiding the hospital. There is so much to see and do, the planet is incredible.

Also, Eat healthy. Let's change the Nation, One Fit City at a time.
