How Conor McGregor Used Visualization To Win

Conor McGregor made history this week. In just two years, he became a world champion. Just how did McGregor go from having nothing, not even a pot to piss in, in 2013, to everything in 2015? Intense training, of course. But also visualization.

Conor McGregor made history this week. In just two years, he became a world champion. Just how did McGregor go from having nothing, not even a pot to piss in, in 2013, to everything in 2015?

Intense training, of course. But also visualization.

"If you can see it here," he said. "And have the courage enough to speak it, it will happen. If you put out what you truly believe in, it will create the law of attraction and it becomes reality."

This is a concept I have believed in, and practiced in my own life for a long time. It's something athletes do all the time. Now, with McGregor winning and attributed that win partly to visualization, I hope more people will realize and tap into this powerful practice to create the lives they truly want.

How do you practice visualization?

Start by asking yourself, "What do I truly want? What do I value most in all areas of my life -- in my career, fun and recreation, money and finances, physical environment, personal growth, spirituality, health and well-being, friends, family, significant other? If I had a magic wand, what would all these areas of my life look like?"

Write down your answers. Build a vision in your mind. Align that vision with your core values and life purpose. Find pictures that represent it to create a vision board.

Now that you have your vision of what you want to create in your life, look at your vision board at least once a day. Take a moment with it to envision that everything in your vision board is in your life now. Notice how it looks, feels, smells. Assume the energy of what you want to experience.

Speak, out loud, what you want to create as you assume the energy of what you want to experience. For McGregor, that means saying "I am the champion, I am the best in the world." He is the champion, and he is saying so now, but he also assumed the energy of this before he became champion. He assumed the mindset of that role before achieving it. He behaved as the winner, walked victoriously and shined with confidence.

And the way he visualized winning is exactly the way it happened.

So what do you truly want to create in your life? Are you ready to create your vision board for 2016 and assume the role and feelings as if your ideal vision is already in your life now? Do it and 2016 will be your best year ever!
