The rich flock to Whistler, so it shouldn't be too surprising that the B.C. ski resort has topped a list of places to meet a "sugar daddy."
Dating site Seekingarrangement.com has named Whistler the best place to hook up with rich, older men, the Vancouver Sun reports.
The American resorts of Jackson Hole, Wyo., Vail, Col and Park City, Utah trailed it on the list, which ranked snow/mountain quality, accommodations, amenities and accessibility. Banff, Alta. came in seventh.
Seekingarrangement.com specializes in "mutually beneficial" relationships that set rich people up with "sugar babies," younger people who accept financial support in exchange for their "friendship," says the site.
Founder Brandon Wade denies claims that the site promotes prostitution.
"The whole concept of the sugar daddy is somebody that's old and adventurous, but the new definition of the word is really a guy who's wealthy, who's a gentleman and loves to spoil and pamper," he told Global TV Edmonton.
The Fairmont Chateau Whistler is apparently the most popular location for sugar daddies within the resort itself. A hotel manager told the network that the hotel caters to a "specific clientele" with some extravagant demands.
The Georgia Straight refused to name the website in its report. The paper called sugar daddies a "sexist phenomenon" and offered tentative congratulations for the honour.
