fashion trends

For most people, fashion is a way of expression; for me it was a support system. When I found myself lost or in transition I simply picked a new character to play and let that character loose in a mall. I would pick bits and pieces of the people around me and tried to imitate their appearance. In true alien mode, I formed myself to look like the inhabitants of whatever place I happened to be occupying at the time.
If your love for style is only matched by your love of making ethical and conscious purchasing decisions, we have some advice for you!
I love the idea of having a wardrobe I can wear when I am enjoying the outdoors and also in the city. Living in Vancouver there are so many opportunities to enjoy nature. But after a hike, I may need to go to the store or the bank. How can you dress for a hike and for shopping in town afterwards?
Menswear is all about building a closet with investment pieces and less about trendy items. Look for top styles that are bold in colour and cuts, and don't be shy to wear pieces with prints, as this will show your innate fashion sense.
Know your body type. I know this should seem obvious, but I still find myself staring wistfully at store windows, wondering if I can squeeze myself into a dress or top that clearly wasn't designed with me in mind. I hear women complain about their bodies all the time, but there's no such thing as a bad body type. There are, however, poor fashion choices that don't highlight your best assets.
I love spring fashion and find shopping online so convenient. The time I save can be spent outdoors, or enjoying time with my friends or dining out. To find out the latest tips and tricks about how you can get the most out of your online shopping experience I spoke with Camille Kowalewski from eBay Canada.
Recently, I was lucky enough to speak with Linda Ly owner and founder of Onyx Aesthetics Studio. Linda shared with me the hottest trends for nails this spring and also the top tips for shellac manicures and pedicures. I love shellac polish. I find it lasts much longer than regular nail polish and I don't get as many chips.
Colour is big this spring -- sunny yellow, mint, candy pink complemented by richer jewel tones such as real turquoise and fuchsia are on trend. They're fun, bright and perfect for spring.
A new season means a fresh start, and what better way to make things fresh and organized in your home than cleaning out your closet. I bet you'll be surprised by how much you can accumulate in a year. The rule is, if you haven't worn something in a year, you probably won't wear it again anytime soon - get rid of it and make room for a few new items. Donate it to your favourite local clothing drive or sell online if it's worth a pretty penny!
I love spring! The colours are brighter and the layers are lighter. There are so many new styles and trends out this season. Pastels are big, men's watches are on-point and you can never go wrong with a nude shoe.
