Jagmeet Singh is the leader of the New Democratic Party of Canada. He was first elected as a Member of Provincial Parliament in the Ontario riding of Bramalea-Gore-Malton in October of 2011. He became deputy leader of the Ontario NDP in 2015. He was elected as leader of the federal NDP in October of 2017, and won his seat in federal parliament in the riding of Burnaby South in February of 2019.
