This yo-yo or extreme dieting may be seen as harmless or even vain but we must recognize it stems from a very dangerous place. Negative body image is the negative self-perception of your body. It is often accompanied by shame; the unworthiness we feel due to our flaws. This combination of negative body image and shame is what leads us to take desperate measures with our bodies.
When women get together and have a "fat talk," their feelings of guilt and failure become ever more aggravated, and it gets even harder to overcome obstacles. Being compassionate with oneself and others means to realize that suffering, failure and imperfection are part of our shared human experience
If you're unwilling to do the work, your attitude is self-defeatist. Your reluctance to roll up your sleeves and do what has to be done is probably what's holding you back from getting what you truly desire in life.

There's a lot of bullying going on these days. We find it in schools, in the workplace and on-line. There's one form of bullying that rarely gets talked about though, and it's creating a lot of misery. I'm talking about self-bullying.

When you think about resilience, you probably think of the ability to bounce back when faced with difficult or painful situations. You think about being able to carry on when you've encountered stress or loss, disappointment, frustration or tragedy. And that's all true. It's also, in my mind, closely associated with an attitude of empowerment.
