I now believe having my nails kept clean and neat finishes off any outfit nicely. My nails can be a nice compliment to what I am wearing or my mood.

Recently, I spoke with Irene Lee, the owner of Pure Nail Bar and she shared with me some of her tips to keep nails neat looking and the hottest nail trends for spring.

What are the hot new nail colours for spring?

Baby soft polish. After a season of bold reds and sparkling golds, there's a return to barely there nail polish colors from the palest pink to chic nude. Lots of favorites includes Essie's Mademoiselle and OPI's bubble bath and Passion.

What is the hot new nail art for spring?

KBShimmer Vinyl Decals add new nail art for your spring nails. KBShimmer vinyl launched a new spring sheet. These sheets make painting on your own nail art a breeze.

What are the hot shapes for nails? Square or pointed?

Forget about trying to maintain longer nails. Short nails that come just to the fingertip are perfect. Rounded or slightly squared off ovals are the two most prominent shapes this year. Less common but yet still a popular shape is almond for those who like to keep their nails slightly longer.

What are the best tips for maintaining your nails once they are done?

Keeping your nails short and well shaped makes it less likely to catch on anything or bend and break. Keeping nails short will help maintain your fresh manicure because they'll be less susceptible to overt damage from the keys you type to chip your nails.

What are the best tips for keep your hands in nice condition (moisturized and the cuticles in good shape) after the manicure?

Everyday you should apply cuticle oil and don't forget to apply handcream daily! Stay away from biting your nails or tearing at your own cuticle.

Any other tips?

If you have weak or easy to break nails, apply nail strengthener, a popular strengthener is Nail Envy (available in shiny or matte). If you bite your nails often, break the habit by applying a bright color to draw your attention to your freshly painted nails.

I am going to use these helpful tips as I continue to expand by nail care regime.

Your suggestions are always welcome, as I continue on my journey to live life to the fullest. Let's have the very best 2015!
