I love the month of September. I enjoy the fashion and jogging in the mornings when the air is crisp. Even though it marks the start of the season when the sky in North America gradually darkens, and foliage withers and returns to the earth, it is also the time of new beginnings of sorts. It is back to school, for instance. It is also when broadcasters launch their new season and from the time I was young it has always been exciting to see what is lined-up.

Today, as a producer, I get to be a part of creating that excitement.

I am thrilled to tell you that the second season of Extraordinary Women TV with Shannon Skinner, my weekly television talk show about getting our dreams into action and living extraordinary lives, premiered on Monday, September 16 at 7 p.m. ET on Rogers TV Cable 10 & 63 in Toronto/Scarborough.

The season premiere features one-on-one interviews with Victoria Dickenson, CEO/director, McMichael Canadian Art Collection, a major public art gallery devoted to collecting Canadian art, who talks to me about her career as head of one of this country's most important cultural institutions, as well as her life as an historian.

Plus, I interview Mehrak Mehrvar, a women's rights advocate and founder, Ni Ni Boutique, who discusses why she is so dedicated to her international work supporting the rights of women, and her unique social enterprise assisting women entrepreneurs in Cambodia.

After interviewing hundreds of women about what is in their hearts to bring out into the world, what has become so evident is that one of the most important things a woman can do in her life is to empower herself so that she is able -- and willing -- to turn her dreams into something real under the sun. These two inspiring guests, plus the many others I have line-up for the show's season, provide insightful tips and tools that will help you, ladies (gentlemen, you can benefit to!), start and/or finish what your heart has been whispering to you all along.

If you are unable to tune-in, it will repeat several times throughout the week and, at a later date, will also be posted online. For Rogers TV Toronto's full schedule, click here. For more information about the show, click here.
