Cinemanovels at TIFF

Well, it's day four and two of the CINEMANOVELS public screenings are in the books. TIFF audiences are amazing. They were so enthusiastic about the film, and the questions they asked during the Q&A were smart and thoughtful.

It was great to present the film with cast members Jennifer Beals, Lauren Lee Smith, Ben Cotton, Kett Turton and Catherine Michaud in attendance.

Somebody at a party asked me if I felt like a Canadian film was harder to sell and garner attention. I told them that I felt like Cinemanovels, although proudly Canadian, is no different from any of the other films in the Contemporary World Cinema program.

Cinemanovels was made in Canada, and, although it was made across the country in Vancouver, TIFF feels kind of like our "home court."

Because the film was inspired by World Cinema, a festival like TIFF is the perfect place to launch Cinemanovels. There are so many countries and cultures on display here, our film, a love letter to the world of international film, has a great chance to find an audience.

If you're in Toronto, we're looking forward to seeing you at our last public screening Sunday September 15, Scotiabank 11 at 12:00 PM

If you're elsewhere, we hope you'll check out Cinemanovels at a theater near you, or on VOD!
