We're exploring the unique collection of Flea and Farmers Markets that abound across the Alberta's capital. From the downtown core to heritage buildings, rural greenhouses and even a bit of the unexpected, Alberta has some of the most seasoned vendors around.

St. Albert Outdoor Farmers Market

A Saturday staple for Sturgeon County, and drawing crowds from across Northern Alberta of up to 20 000 people. Featuring over 250 vendors, the St. Albert Outdoor Farmers Market is the largest outdoor market in Western Canada! From the Bohdan's Ukrainian Food, Goth Babushka, Taste of Ukraine, Two Baba's & A Stove, The Perogy Princess and so many more, this is a mecca of where you can pick up that magical little pocket of heaven: the perogy!

City Market Downtown

From fresh vegetation and amazing meats to the more unique, local goods. Whether you're an organic enthusiast or looking for that perfect table topping treasure for a tapas night, you're sure to find it here. The City Market has had a few different names, and more then a few location, but when you've been around for over 110 year, that's bound to happen. Waltz down trendy 104th Street Saturdays from 9am - 3pm during the summer months, then find the market relocated to City Hall during the winter.

Old Strathcona Farmer's Market

Ever walk by a house and wonder "where did they get that wonderful birdhouse?" Probably from Larry's Unique Birdhouses - one of the hundreds of amazing vendors at this year round, south side market, in Old Strathcona. From arts and crafts, baked goods and garden grown greats - it's all here... Oh, and if sampling is your jam, especially of jams, this is the market for you!

124 Grand Market

Plow through the fresh fruits, crisp veggies, and seasonal swell of edibles -- all ripe for the pickin'! This Thursday night market has developed a cult following of foodies, farm-to-table enthusiasts and lovers of local. With creative events like the Sunset Soirée, market mash-ups with the French Quarter market, and the creation of the Little Beans program - which encourages healthy and nutritious conscientious habits for children.

Mother's Market

Edmonton's newest market is Mother's Market, rocking out 3 days a week in the old Mother's Music building. This community marketplace was designed to bring farmers and artisan food and goods producers together to showcase their goods, which are grown, raised or made in and around Edmonton and area.

French Quarter Farmers Market

La joie de vivre is alive and well in the heart of Edmonton's French Quarter! Located on Rue Marianne Gaboury, in La Cité Francophone across from the faculty Saint Jean campus. On Sunday afternoons you'll find scores of shoppers scoping out fabulous French finds from artisanal breads, sweet treats, choice cheeses and fresh veg.

Night Market Edmonton

Pound the pavement at this phenomenal market - but don't expect to pick up produce. As Edmonton's first (and only) night market, it is based on the marvelous evening market places found throughout Europe. From DJs and dancing, movies shown after dusk, this is where "compelling strangers come to gather among the wonderful things to enjoy the sweetness of being together", according to the market's founder.

Callingwood Farmers' Market

"Go west young man", or anyone else for that matter! For on Sundays and Wednesdays the West Edmonton market scene flourishes in the parking lot of The Market Place at Callingwood.
