"Jeopardy!" host Alex Trebek put himself in -- you guessed it -- mild jeopardy as he ran after a burglar at his San Francisco hotel. According to the Today Show, the incident occurred Wednesday morning and put the 71-year-old prime-time television staple in crutches during the 10th National Geographic World Championships, which he was hosting, at the nearby Google headquarters. The injury? What is a snapped Achilles Tendon, Alex.

No word on whether the burglar was caught, but we expect that the suspect will have to answer to a stern quizzing.

He is fortunate the woman they did catch (according to other outlets), did not have a weapon to use on him or his wife. Glad he and his wife are o.k. The ending could have been much worse.
