Tommy Douglas would have been very proud of how you represented yourself and the NDP party. Rest in peace Jack and thank you for your service. You will be missed but not forgotten.

From an American who loves Canada, my sincere sympathies to all of Mr. Layton's followers for the loss of this very fine gentleman. You were blessed to have an advocate for social progress that was so secure in his beliefs, so comfortable in his own skin that he could take part in this kind of interview with patience and charm and humor.

And he knew his rock and roll, and wasn't afraid to show that fact with enthusiasm! It may seem like a small point but it says a great deal about the man, as does his easy interaction with the interviewer - Mr. Layton was a youthful, enthusiastic, energetic man, brimming with life, and it shows.

It's tremendous loss not just to Canada but to the world. This man would have been a great addition to the world scene. With respect I find it a bit difficult to say the same of your current PM.

I spent a great deal of time in Canada on business in the 80's and 90's and regard it as the greatest city in North America. I tell friends here that they must visit. Toronto is a different planet.

His constituents must stay strong. Jack Layton, may you find peace. You were a classy guy.
