Outspoken NDP MP Pat Martin dropped a thunderous F-bomb on his 1,400-strong Twitter following Wednesday night in a moment of outrage after the Tories voted to end debate on a budget-related bill.

And the member for Winnipeg Centre is not backing down, making no apologies for a digital outburst that got tongues wagging in Ottawa.

Martin tweeted "This is a f---ing disgrace... closure again. And on the Budget! There's not a democracy in the world that would tolerate this jackboot s---." And then "For gods sake. In these uncertain economic times, don't you think our parliament should be debating our federal budget? Some due diligence?"

Soon after, Martin became a trending topic in Canada and gained an extra 500 followers.

Taken to task by some of his followers, Martin unleashed a fresh wave of profanity. After one tweeted "Sad how a foul mouth socialist capitalizes 'Budget' but not 'God,' " Martin responded with "f-- you." This wasn't the only colourful response Martin gave, you can see more in the slideshow below.

Initially, there was some doubt about whether the tweets were authentic, or the result of a hack job, but Martin confirmed the words were his in an e-mail to The Huffington Post's Althia Raj.

"No that was me. I was frustrated and angry," he told Raj.

Martin is known for his loose tongue. Just last month he said ending the Canadian Wheat Board's monopoly on grain sales was like a Canadian beaver "biting off his own testicles."
