Occupy Canada Eviction: Who Stays And Who Goes

Occupy Canada

The Huffington Post Canada   First Posted: 11/13/11 02:45 PM ET Updated: 11/23/11 07:45 AM ET

Canada's occupy movement is reaching the one-month mark, with cities across the country still participating in the international protest.

The occupations have had no shortage of controversies, with altercations between city workers and occupants, safety concerns and a drug overdose on site. Locals and government officials have been both frustrated by the protests, and supportive of the movement. Many cities, however, are now trying to evict occupants from public parks and spaces.

You don't have to go home, but you can't stay here. Here's a roundup of what local occupy movements have and haven't been evicted so far.

Since when did "free speech" include breaking bylaws of congregating or using public/private spaces ? These people have more avenues of speech available than ever before. Since when is physical 'bullying' and 'infringing' on society's rights, "free speech"?
The semantics manipulations have hit a new low of anarchy!
Why the need for court injunctions to uphold existing laws??

it's free speech nor is it free expression, if its limited by laws. then it would be called limited speech rights and limited expression rights. You can not have it both ways. Either the government has the right to regulate speech and expression or it does not.

In Edmonton, winter will serve the eviction notice.

That will hold true in many cities across the country, no doubt.

Amusing the number of people who are dumbfounded by the fact that you send an entire segment of a nation into poverty who then respond by a revolt. The corruption is oozing from every crevice of govt still, the rich only richer for one reason, a transfer of their, the middle class's assets via fixed-to-fail financial instruments on a global level. CDS is taking down Greece, Italy and soon Spain. Do you understand where this train is headed? Pure and absolute despair and suffering for the most vulnerable of society, that is where. Schemes that are in-your-face yet the major networks are aware of, cover in detail during interviews by bestselling authors in economics, verified and awards presented. Psyops at its finest.

What revolt? These so called protesters, or referred to as "flea baggers" are just disillusioned functionaries and lackeyss of the political left, that sees humanity in distorted reality.
The real enemies of society which these protesters and their disguised leaders, will forever be linked to such leaders as Lenin, Stalin and Hitler. When these grandiose leaders mesmerized the population with their flowery talk of every thing in life you need is free and the class warfare is to destroy those who work for a living.
Only weeks after the Russian revolution th Bolsheviks created the secret police forces far more brutal than under the Tsar. The NAZI's (National Socialist Workers Party) followed suit and were no sooner in power than they instituted the dreaded Gestapo. Under these two regimes millions of people were incarcerated, tortured and put to death.
I believe in protesting government policies, but I will also offer a alternative solutions. That is obviously not happening. These flea bitten, maggot infested drug users are not legitimate protesters, and the authorities should apply the civil laws and statutes that are on the books.

Child: Daddy, I'm hungry.
OWS: I know sweety, so am I. Daddy just got laid off, again.
Child: What's laidoff?
OWS: It's when mommies and daddies can't work any more even though they did nothing wrong. So we look and look for a decent job that might possibly let us earn enough to live.
Child: What's a decent job?
OWS: Sometimes, when people grow up, they go to school. If they study hard and accrue enough debt, they are then eligible to apply for a good job. If they are lucky they get a good job. If they are not lucky, like papa, they don't get the good job, there degree goes stale and they are force to work unskilled labour.
Child: What's unskilled labour?
OWS: It used to be that grown ups could walk into a local factory and get a union job with decent benefits and a living wage. But now unskilled labour is mostly service jobs. They do not pay enough for mommies and daddies to support our family.
Child: Why are we here today?
OWS: There are a lot of bright people, like papa, who have been let down. So we come down here to talk with them. With discussion may come solutions. Papa wants to build contacts and find like minded people to help our community develope a new independant social structure so that little girls have a chance at a better life.
Child: What's that smell?
OWS: Pepper spray, we best be leaving.
