Celebrity Baby Photos: The Most Expensive Baby Photos

From Brangelina's pricey twins to Britney Spears's kid sister's bundle of joy, celebrities have been taking those first precious moments and turn them into millions of dollars on the covers of magazines for years now.

The money could be given to charity -- Brangelina reportedly donated the $11 million People paid for a glimpse of their newborn twins-- or (we hope) put towards the child's future.

Thanks to this precedent, some celebrities now seek cash before labour. In October, Jessica Simpson reportedly was looking for $500,000 for her baby-to-be's photos, but recent critics say her newborn's pictures won't be worth millions. Ouch.

Others have opted not to share their personal life with the world -- or tried to, at least. When Bollywood starlet Aishwarya Rai gave birth to a baby girl last month, it only took weeks before fake baby pictures were released on the Internet, and now reports claim the family will not be selling the baby's pictures at all.

But is this payout worth it for magazines? Some say buying expensive cover shots will help the publication rake in more revenue -- and who wouldn't want to see pictures of what happens when two beautiful celebrities reproduce?

"There is an old saying: Give me a picture of a baby, a beautiful woman, chocolate or a dog, and I will sell a magazine," Samir Husni, director of the Magazine Innovation Center at the University of Mississippi, said in an interview with ABC News, after Brangelina's twins made millions.

Check out the top ten most expensive baby photos.

I think it's sad that some celebs sell pics of their babies just to keep them safe, b/c if they don't make a deal with a publication, they are stalked by paps who want that 1st shot of the kid so they can collect the money. At least this way they keep their kids reasonably safe and give the money to a good cause. But, there r some celebs who just want to be in the news and use whatever they can to do it, including using their kids and that I don't think is right. Just my opinion though.

People seem to really get riled up over this issue. IMO there's nothing wrong with it. If someone were willing to pay me THAT much money for some photos and an accompanying story, I'd take it in a heartbeat - no one is being hurt and it's good money for your child, family, charity, whatever you decide to do with it. None of the posters here have a right to judge them, because they've never been offered that kind of a deal and it's not their child. And if people want to spend their time or money on the magazines (I personally don't ) then that is their prerogative! Everyone has their own interests and who cares if it includes reading about celebs. If you don't care then don't buy them.

Angelina and Brad are one of the most beautiful, generous celebrities in the World, I am sure that money went to a good cause for the rest of them all think they are gods or better yet, people sem to think that a celebrity is not one of us.

There is a difference between a Celebrity and an Ordinary Person, if they are the Privileged one's who can cash out on something appropriate then i see nothing wrong with it. We all spend money on different kind of things, which we really don'y need but they remain as our desires, and those who can sell something that people would like to see or learn about whats wrong with it,? as they put lot of efforts to generate that kind of funds. Here the couple have made 11 million and wants to donate for charity purpose, then it is a cause wonderful. If i was that lucky i would do the same---

This is ridiculas, There is no one infant that is worth that money, Each is precious without doubt and when price is a factor you have a sick parent out there advertising.

Funny how the media or OWS people don't complain about Hollywood being in the 1% - oh I know why, it's because they are all left wing and support left wing causes. Got it.

What was the point of the US wisely implementing the anti-stalking laws if you intentionally shove images of your baby in millions of faces. I always respected Michael Jackson for hiding his children to the point of putting veils on their faces, he tried very hard to see they were safe and had some semblance of a normal childhood. These celebs are putting their newborn children on display for every whack job in the world to see, anyone recall where the anti-stalking law came from? Rebecca Schaeffer gunned down at her front door by a psycho fan at just 18. I realize the case isn't the same, how about the Lindburgh baby? I understand some donate it to charity, but they can easily afford that without bastardizing their children. I just don't see any up-side to doing this, I sell items on the internet and refuse to allow my clients to pick up their purchases so some predator won't see where my child lives....and I'm nobody! Wait till the children are old enough to understand their need to be more cautious than average kids.

Michael Jackson and "trying had to see children safe" is a joke in itself. Is that what he was thinking when he got so much publicity for hanging his son off of a balcony? Very poor comparison!

I could not agree with Shoregirl24 more. The Michael Jackson comparision is in very poor taste. I am a daughter of a police officer who protected his children with every fiber of his being. He taught us to be safe and to be wary as all parents should. But understand this, there will always be people willing to pay for these pictures of the rich and famous, as there will always be the curious that want to buy the magazines and read the stories. I do not think that makes it right but it is just the plain truth.

Interesting logic, so what you're saying is any man's good deeds in a life are to be ignored should he be accused of a crime? Let's just say a man was responsible for freeing millions of people and saved the lives of hundreds of thousands of starving children, a man who was also a terrorist, who's wife was a murderer who ordered the torture of 4 children, a man who listed among his closest friends Fidel Castro, Moammar Qaddafi, Yasser Arafat and Saddam Hussein. This man was a Nobel Peace Prize winner you may have heard of: Nelson Mandela. I don't turn off the radio when I hear his music, I don't curse his name for the millions of children Michaal helped in his lifetime and I don't convict a man who stood trial and was never found guilty of a single crime, but you go right ahead with your Kangaroo court mentality and call me when you do one-millionth of percent of good these men did. The God of my understanding offers redemption, I'm sure glad I won't face you on judgement day.

I agree with a lot of posts and I am glad you think that way! Down with Hollywood and these ridiculous people who take up so much of our TV time. We don't care about you!!!! Bring on CNN Heroes and worthwhile shows.

American values!!
Madison avenue just loves to sell star stuff and we pay for the privilege of seeing being screwed. Can't be a star? Hows about being on the board of your bank. It pays well ... to be connected.
