22 Minutes: Bob Rae Can't Stop Laughing In Bloopers From Liberal Convention Skit (VIDEO)

The Liberals haven't been doing a lot of laughing lately. Reduced to third-party status, overshadowed by the NDP and beset with uncertainty about the future leader of the party, the Grits have had few reasons to smile.

Enter This Hour Has 22 Minutes.

Interim leader Bob Rae and fellow Liberal MPs Marc Garneau, Carolyn Bennett, Scott Brison, John McCallum and Dominic LeBlanc sat down with 22 Minutes' Mark Critch for a skit on dinner politics during the Liberal convention. Hilarity ensued.

Perhaps funnier than the skit itself were the outtakes from the shoot. Rae, who kept his cool even after his party voted to legalize marijuana at the convention last weekend, couldn't keep it together during the filming.

Struggling to control giggles, Rae said it best himself: "This is an entire show all to itself." We agree.

This Hour Has 22 Minutes airs Tuesdays at 8:30 pm on CBC TV. Catch more clips of the show on Facebook and Twitter.

Ever seen Rae and Mercer when they are going skinny dipping?
Hysterical.

Rae is a Rhodes Scholar, one of the smartest men in Canada, and loves to laugh, even at himself.
A real human being. If we had more leaders like him, Canada would again be one of the shining lights in the world.

Im a Liberal supporter and before the convention I was really mad about Rae opening up the door to a leadership run... but the more I hear his speeches and the more I learn about him, I'm less & less concerned... The real problem would be his history as Ontario Premier during an era of high debt, but he'd definately push us in the right direction and would likely do well in Quebec.

Also, the fact that the NeoCons are already out against him is always a good sign!

The American diplomats in private memos have mentioned how impressed they were with Bob Rae 's depth of knowledge and thought. He impressed them far more than anyone in Ottawa.

Rae days showed the intelligence of Bob Rae - his compassion and fiscal responsibility. Instead of laying people off and having them go on Ei he saved them their jobs. He reduced their work week to four days a week but their take home pay would be almost the same because they would have less tax taken off their pay cheques. If they had to they could have got a part time job as well. This saved millions in tax payers dollars- no EI, no buyouts and the employees still had their jobs. Beats what Ford is doing.

That was wonderful! What a contrast to Bully Harper's negative ads and attack. I'd vote for this guy any day.
