Last week we talked about smoking looking stylish on the runway and this week we have something even more unsettling coming into style.
The latest hot topic trending in the fashion world right now is the concept of “concealed carry” clothing. Basically what this means is that people who carry guns want a stylish way to hide them in their outfits.

Why this would ever come up in fashion seems to be a mystery, but if you take a look back you may notice this trend has been a long time coming. From Rihanna’s infamous gun tattoo to Lady Gaga’s machine gun bra on Rolling Stone, guns are being shown as a style statement.
The clothing concept is mainly an interest for American shoppers, since over seven million people in the United States hold permits that allow them to carry concealed weapons. With stylish chinos that have a secret second pocket or shirts with side slits for easy access to a waistband holster, gun owners will now be able to step up their style.

These clothes are created from the popular American heritage brand Woolrich, with their special Concealed Carry Collection. Other big brands are also getting in on the demand from fashion friendly gun owners. Under Armor is using their moisture wicking technology to create clothes that protect the weapons from rusting when they come in contact with sweat.
For a more feminine look there are also purses available with concealable pockets for a handgun. Sites like Gungear.com offer some pretty stylish options including leopard-print evening bags. Handbag and accessory brand Vlieger & Vandam pokes fun at carrying a gun with its gun-embossed leather totes (also worn by Rihanna).

Over here in Canada this just sounds like an absurd idea, but at the end of the day everyone wants to look good with whatever they carry, whether it be a cute clutch or a handgun, or both!
