An occupy protest drew approximately 100 people to Parliament Hill Saturday.

Individuals protesting the oil sands, the Harper government and the robocalls controversy gathered together on the large green lawn mingling with many tourists on bright sunny Ottawa Day.

Wesley Bartlett of 'Rally for Truth,' a group organizing anti-Harper rallies on Parliament Hill every Sunday, said protesters were there to demand a public inquiry into the robocall scandal.

"We want the opposition parties to take responsibility and take it upon themselves to form a public inquiry into robocalls," he said.

Bartlett suggested the Conservative government should listen to Canadians who were protesting his party's actions.

"I hope so, we are a democratic nation and if the people stand up and really demand this, we get the numbers, we get politicians that care and want to discuss with us and demand a public inquiry, I think the government will listen," he said.

Until there is a parliamentary inquiry under an independent head (that is a non-Tory), with full powers to command witnesses, the scandal will continue to tarnish the Tories. The stink surrounding the last election surpasses that from the tainted-fish scandal that took place under Lyin' Brian.

Election Canada’s own report which is readily available on line quote page (3)

“There was no conduct reported that would bring question the integrity of the election results overall or the result in a particular riding.” Although misconduct was reported in several ridings there is no complaint that it affected the final results. There is some speculation in the media that dirty tricks may have affected the results in some contests”

Jurisprudence will prevail as investigation are ongoing.

We need rallies of 30 or maore at all Conservative MP's constituency offices every week when Parliament isn't sitting. There is more than just voting for a candidate to represent you in Ottawa. A vote for the party shouldn't be for the leader to dictate policy. Look at all the drones in Question Period reading or citing verbatim talking points from the PMO-- at least Jean Chretien faced the press on a regular basis. Different from Harper reporting government policy regarding OAS at a retreat for the ruling class in Europe in the winter. Shocking the Harper™ Government still has apologists online.

Anyone wanting a Government Inquiry should first look at the last one Harper called on the Karl Schierber/Mulroney Airbus affair. Harper insured the word 'Airbus' could not be even uttered throughout as one of the terms of Reference.

Isn;t it ironic that today one of his Ministers can accuse charitable Environmental Groups of 'Money Laundering' about as often as he blows his nose?

This guy & his 'government are bad news.

Constitutional crisis or not, it is time for the Governor General to step up and end this Parliament. It is the ultimate safeguard in our democracy.

Honestly, how could we even trust a government inquiry into government malfeasance? There should be a private inquiry, done at the behest of the government, giving that inquiry temporary expanded inquisitional powers to get to the bottom of things. If these allegations are true, the conservatives have done no less than act in a treasonous way. To subvert the democratic process is treason.

The Harper government has been a party to the highly dubious sell-off of STELCO to U.S. interests, and the closing down of ELECTRO-MOTIVE DIESEL by recently new owner CATERPILLAR – after insulting the employees by offering them a 50% wage cut. And shortly before sale, a $5 million tax grant went to the Corporation from the Harper government. [With what behind-the-scenes agreements??] Expect more of the same under the Harper regime.

In the calculated and highly organized (alleged) Harper Party attempt to wreck the 2011 election through Robocall electronic tactics, another major attack was made upon the legitimacy of the election process in Canada. All indications point to the Conservative Party and its supporters as the major, overwhelmingly involved force engaged in election-wrecking.

I really agree with this, as soon as I heard that Republicans from the states did most of the door to door campaigning for the tories. I realized I wasn't in Canada anymore

Well lo and behold if I didn’t discover that “R” is but an abbreviation for the Latin word, “Regina” which, when translated into the English language, means “The queen”!

The queen? What queen? Did I miss something along the way? The queen? Not a queen with a capital Q even, just “the queen”. conceive of them as having the ability to persuade the Canadian courts to arrest and jail a man who in his 56th year of life and having absolutely no previous criminal record was suddenly deemed to be such a dire threat to the Canadian public that he had to be torn away from his family and friends and placed in a jail cell without the Canadian court system first proving that he had actually done anything wrong.

My next logical conclusion was that it must be the city of Regina, Saskatchewan who was after Jim for some major traffic violation or something of that nature but again it just didn’t make sense that a city would go to such inordinate lengths to keep an innocent man in jail for failing to pay his traffic tickets.

Finally the light broke through and it dawned on me that it was in fact the Queen of that foreign nation known as England who was responsible for keeping Harry James Townsend in jail. The frickin’ Queen of England?!! What in hell has she got to do with my independent and sovereign nation called Canada?

Who the hell is Regina and why is she keeping Harry James Townsend in jail without a trial?

by Arthur Topham
Radical Press reporter

May 1st, 2012

On Wednesday, April 25th, 2012 I attended a SUPREME TRIAL DIVISION “APN-REVIEW BAIL” hearing in Courtroom 1 at the Kelowna Law Courts in Kelowna, B.C. presided over by MR. JUSTICE BETTON. The Supreme Court List stated that it was “R.V TOWNSEND”. Reading that bold and ominous phrase was the beginning of yet another unraveling tale of judicial incompetence and outright criminal activity on the part of what is considered to be the Canadian Justice System.

My initial thought was, “Who the hell is ‘R’ and why is ‘R’ trying to keep Jim Townsend in jail for months and not allowing him out on bail?”

Well, I decided to go to the lawyer’s bible, better known as Black’s Law Dictionary, to find out who “R” was. I figured that seeing as how “R” was doing their damnedest to keep Jim Townsend incarcerated since last February 16th without giving him his legal right to a day in court, (which, coincidentally, by Canadian ‘law’ ought to have taken place within 72 hours of his arrest) they must be a pretty powerful and influential Canadian.

Not to belabour the obvious, but....for every person that was able to be in Ottawa at this particular protest, there are many people who could not be, but would have liked to...me included.

A court proceeding should punish the perpetrators of the robocall initiative and, should the governing party be found guilty, the court should be empowered to rescind election results tainted by the scandal.

And, further; those found responsible should be barred from running for office again.

A fine or reprimand will not suffice to keep these disreputable types from selling their snake oil again.

Nope. But let's hit them where they really live and demand that MPs in those ridings return every dime of salary and expenses they fraudulently stole from us, immediately. And their campaign employees, likewise.

Police just arrested Derek Soberal while peacefully protesting within his constitutional rights. This is blatant kidnapping is it not? Election Fraud Protests are planned for months and are only just beginning as more illegal activity is discovered. Now that our media must take an "oath" virtually gagging the truth, more people will stand up against this fascist dictator. The only thing shy of jail sentences that will make this right is resignation and a full election.

"Bartlett suggested the Conservative government should listen to Canadians who were protesting his party's actions."

Yes, he should.

That he doesn't/won't/can't (pick one) will truly be both his downfall and the epitaph of the Conservative Party in Canada.
