RCMP have confirmed remains found in North Vancouver Saturday night are human.
The area is known to locals as a common walkway frequented by people who don't live in the area, reported 24 Hours Vancouver.
"There’s been a sense, or perception, that there are sometimes drug deals that go on in there," Wendy Noel told the newspaper.
The human remains were discovered in a wooded area off Curling Road and Bell Isle Place.
RCMP Cpl. Richard de Jong said investigators had to wait for daylight to do a proper examination of the scene, reported News 1130.
The cause of death is suspicious. The age, gender, and identity of the victim has not yet been released.
