A severe thunderstorm warning for Edmonton stayed true to its words, as it loomed over the city on Tuesday. Environment Canada issued a warning for the City of Edmonton, St. Alberta and Sherwood Park in the afternoon. The notice warned that large hail and damaging winds up to 90km/h may develop.

While some welcomed the impending rain:

The calm before a storm is great. People frantically mowing their lawns and BBQing before it pours... I miss this stuff.

Others hoped the sky would be kind:

Tracey Sawatzky
Dear storm warning. Do not happen in this evening okay?!...

An understandable statement, since it was only last week that a storm had visited Edmonton.
