Real Honorio was sentenced to life without parole for 25 years on Tuesday, in relation to the Bolsa restaurant shooting in Calgary on New Year's Day in 2009, CBC reports.
Honorio was found quilty of two counts of first-degree murder and guilty of shooting an innocent bystander, Keni Su'a, CBC adds
Honorio's laywer Tonii Roulston told 660 News that Honorio's claim of a mistrial were never properly investigated.
"There ought to have been an independent investigation; not Calgary Police Service investigating the RCMP and asking questions and some of the pertinent questions that needed to be asked were not asked."
Honorio is the third person to be convicted in connection to the gang related incident that took the life of three people.
Honorio was convicted in March of first-degree murder in the Jan. 1, 2009 shooting of gang member Sanjeev Mann and associate Aaron Bendle at the Bolsa Vietnamese Restaurant.
