As Montreal recovers from yesterday's flood that hit the city core, photos of the incredible event are circulating on the Internet.
The flood occurred due to a water main break at a construction site Monday afternoon. It unleashed 40 million litres of water into the streets, creating major problems for the city and its residents, CTV reported.
The flood caused road closures, transportation issues, class cancellations, and a few minor injuries. Some reported the water reached up to their knees. A YouTube video shows a river of water sweeping a McGill University student away.
Crews closed off the water valves Monday evening, the Sun reported, and cleared and salted streets into the night, according to CBC. Authorities continue to assess the damage.
