Edmonton couple Andrea Ellis and David Mazur are the only Canadians left with a shot at winning a dream wedding worth $100,000 from dating site PlentyofFish.

Ellis and her fiance Mazur are one of six couples left in a continent-wide competition for cash the lovebirds can put towards their wedding and honeymoon.

"We were shocked to make it to Round 2. And as the only Canadian couple, we were quite honoured," Ellis told the Vancouver Sun.

The Edmonton couple hopes the nation will get behind them and that votes from Canadian supporters will get them to the grand prize in the popular dating web site's $100,000 Wedding Contest, the Vancouver Sun reported.

The two were engaged nine months after they met on POF and will have a fish tank as a center piece at their wedding to honour the website.

According to the contest page, the competition, "is a chance for the POF community to celebrate the love our members have found with us."

"We had an amazing outpouring of support for all the couples, so we're thrilled for our finalists and consider it an absolute privilege to read these stories and share them with our members," said POF's Chief Operating Officer Kate Bilenki..

The contest was open to couples in the U.S. and Canada that met on the dating website and are now engaged. The winner will be announced on Valentine's Day and will receive $100,000 of cash to help them plan their wedding and honeymoon.
