Despite going home empty-handed after the Grammy Awards Sunday evening, Canadian pop star Carly Rae Jepsen will be celebrating later this year: she's playing on Parliament Hill in Ottawa on Canada Day.

"Canadians are all very proud of Carly Rae Jepsen tonight," Federal Heritage Minister James Moore tweeted on Sunday evening. "News: @carlyraejepsen will headline the 2013 Canada Day noon show in Ottawa!"

No other acts for the concert have been announced or confirmed. Last year Feist, Simple Plan and Roch Voisine were some of the artists who performed on Parliament Hill.

"1st met @carlyraejepsen @ the 2010 Junos in St.John's," Moore added in a series of tweets. "She was just starting, wasn't deemed worthy of the broadcast show & she performed at the gala dinner the night before. She performed an acoustic version of 'Bucket' and was brilliant. Am thrilled to see how successful she has been in such a short time. A v sweet girl with real talent. Well done! Looking fwd to July 1st on Parliament Hill @carlyraejepsen."

Jepsen — who released her last album "Kiss" in 2012 — will spend the first half of 2013 touring Europe with her first date set for Dublin on Feb. 18. The Ottawa performance is the lone Canadian gig scheduled thus far for 2013.
